Introduction

Catherine writes for a greener future. Her poetry for children and teens rejoices that humans are part of nature, imagining how we could notice, respect, and enjoy our environments. She investigates this environmental awareness further in her academic work, which analyses how children’s literature and fantasy novels present animals, plants, and humans in nature. Her writing also highlights and explores LGBTQIA+ experiences, especially sapphic love.

A proud Londoner, with roots in Devon and Cornwall, Catherine now lives with her girlfriend in Cambridge – half-listening to birdsong and staring at ornate, old turrets poking up through the trees.
